what is the best way to lose weight, a diet, a weight loss program, or just exercising?

Which Weight Loss Program should I use?
I have choices between Slim-Fast, Atkins or Equate. Which one of these would help me lose weight faster? I need to lose about 50 pounds in a couple of months. Which will be more effective?
P.S Are you allowed eating rice or beans with these weight loss programs?
ok i admit this isnt healthy but i was eating one meal a day and when i had that meal it could be anything, i even had ate out at restaurants numerous times, and i lost like 20 pounds in less then month, i think it was in about 2 1/2 weeks it was hard at first but i stuck with it and honestly i havent gained anyback, i would have a medium coffee in am with cream or milk and little sugar then eat dinner around 5:30
if thats not an option go for high protein meals, you can buy soy protein powder at walmrt, if you use 1% milk and add lil fruit they arent bad and help to fill you up perfect for breakfast then just eat healthy lunch and dinner, grilled chicken, salads yogurt, veggies fruits etc
exercise is main key and dont forget lots of water, keeping hydrated is VERY goodway to help weight loss

WEIGHT LOSS kick-off 2009!!!
YES, I’ve started my weight loss journey again! FINALLY! As of Feb 8,2009 I’ve gotten my bad eating habits under control again. I am eating healthy again and working my way back up to working out about 5-6 days a week. I will not be posting a weigh in video until I am AT LEAST 2 weeks into my healthy habits again – to make sure that this isn’t a false start once again. So possibly look forward to a weigh in on Feb 22 2009.
Current weight (as of Feb 10 2009) is 161 pounds. Goal weight is between 130 and 140 pounds.
I lost 25 pounds during my first weight loss journey (June 08-October 08), gained a lil of it back….and NOW’s the time to take it back off and continue on!
Next weigh in? Not sure yet…..as soon as I get out of my self pity party mood. Pray for me ya’ll, pray for me!
