i just started doin this a week ago, i only eat 1200 calories a day, and ive already lost over 10 pounds! This makes losing weight simple, satisfying, and non confusing. and strange enough i dont feel like im on a diet, i dont feel hungry all the time, like i did on a fad diet! Losing weight never felt so good.

sounds like you need to take it easy, you’re just like me I started boxing and the weight fell off but my metabolism’s shoddy now and it’s being stubborn it just doesn’t want to play ball. A 500 – 700 calorie deficit is a great number to be aiming for.

How do you stay focused on writing things down? I have several food journals (body for life food journal, Dietminder Food Journal, Calorieking software & online journal, and even the 12 second sequence journal by Jorge Cruise. Each time, getting something that is easier and convenient to use. But, i still forget to write stuff down, and it takes so much time to look up calories, add up totals and stuff. Is there a simplier way?

I’m a recovering anorexic, and a male. Actually, when it really started, I had been feeling like about my appearance, and my goal was to get toned and eat healthy, all that good stuff. I started watching videos like this and reading books about it.
I went from never even looking at a nutrition label to counting calories OBSESSIVELY, cutting food groups, etc.
Somewhere along the lines, what was meant to be healthy, just wasn’t anymore. And I couldn’t stop.

well thats OBSESSIVLEY counting calories. the whole point of weight watchers is to keep track of your calories so you know if its alright to indulge a little. but with anorexics they wouldnt want to indulge at all. how ironic is it that obesity and anorexia are rising epidemics in the same country?

from listening to this guy i have been counting calories 1500 a day with lifting weights and i have been shredding pounds of fat but… i should be eating more but i see excellent results. for anyone dieting i recommend chicken skinless for main part of your meals filling, low in calories, lots of protein

ummm i suggest eating healthy foods that will nurish you and feed you body(pretty much the whole reason y ur body says its hungry) and ummm exersising… such as lift weights or other intense activities…. but if u weigh 400lbs then u will lose lots of weight listening to this guy

counting calories are dumb… we are not robots… we are living breathing human beings… eating fewer calories does not mean u will lose fat nor does it mean u will be healthier… just as are calorie intake per day moves up and down, so does are bio energy systems calorie usage… and those systems are the real fat lose tools

no its just that anorexics think they’re fat. Thats the whole condition behind anorexia.
Also, the kind of stereotypical modern mindset that you should always be skinnier causes a lot of people to become self-conscious and develop eating disorders.
I know its not a widespread problem, but eating disorders are on the rise in the US, so I am just saying that, for these extreme cases, counting calories isn’t healthy.
